Sophie Dahl Cookbook.

So, I am REALLY wanting this cookbook.  I know absolutely nothing about it, but fell in love with the cover and pictures.  I thought I almost had it at Barnes and Noble tonight.  The computer said “IN STOCK,” but as it so happened, it was just taken off the truck and they couldn’t find it in the storeroom.

super cute cover- CHECK.

Charming nonchalance - CHECK.

Optical Opulence.

I’ve been dying for a new pair of glasses for some time.  However, now that I have PLUM in the picture, extra funds somehow go to her and her new cupcake collar, cupcake id tag, and doggy day care.  That’s not even INCLUDING the list of things I want to get her, like this POPPY collar and cabana crate cover

So, how can I POSSIBLY shop for a pair of glasses for myself with a list like that?  However, if I were to treat myself to a pair of eyeglasses, there’s a strong chance I would definitely purchase them on Net-A-Porter.com (yes, THAT Natalie Massanet’s company- the woman who just sold it for $76 million).

Jane Wilner Designs

I was recently searching online for a new bedspread.  There is so much to choose from now, it is really hard to narrow the options down to one particular color palette or even style!  In addition, though I’ve been considering a solid color in a super luxe material (and accenting it with an array of pillows) there are so many gorgeous print selections, it’s hard not to fall head over heels for some of the great designs.

I love the BLAIR Collection in a lovely yellow and gray damask from Jane Wilner available at Neiman Marcus (above).  Jane Wilner is also sold at Horchow and I also adore the pink striped toile collection below, although it may be too feminine (yes, it is possible) for the rest of my bedroom style.

Speaking of a solid color, I do LOVE the glamorous white collection below.  Jane Wilner has included a mélange of different textures and adornment to create an incredibly luxurious (and simply beautiful) bed set.  And, I LOVE the rosette pillows.  They remind me of this darling rosette Valentino-esque top I tried on last night at American Apparel.

Because I’m not entirely sold on one particular style, I’m definitely going to keep browsing.  But, its great to know that a designer like Jane Wilner, is entirely on the right track and style!

Friday Night Romper & Beach Chic.

Because I’ve had MORE time than usual to think about it, I’ve been thinking about what in the world I’m going to wear tonight to hear my favorite Motown band play live by the ocean this evening.  Thanks to J.Crew, 75% of my outfit was delivered yesterday!  Because I am vacationing in the fabulous Seaside, Florida, I knew the ring below would be positively perfect.  I’m wearing it right now as I type - and I’m in love!

I’m pairing it with this ADORABLE black silk romper, that I was a little worried about, but it’s flowy, flattering, and incredibly chic!

I’m going to try to wear my hair in a top knot and I’m wearing my favorite nude silk platform heels I purchased last year at BCBG.  Paired with my fabulous new natural berry stained “Naughty Berry” RED lipstick from Terry at Barneys New York- I’m hoping the outfit is complete!

I didn’t ever think I could or would wear a ROMPER!  EVER!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jamie Hayon and one gorgeous restaurant

I have been continuing to explore the May 2010 issue of Canadian House and Home and fell in LOVE with the chair below.  There are both indoor and outdoor versions.

The chair is by the young Spanish artist and designer, Jamie Hayon.  The chairs are part of the Showtime Collection he’s designed for B + D Home.

subscribe to NONSENSE!

HELLO!

After advising a phenomenally inspirational friend last night to add a subscription aspect to her website, I thought I should probably promote mine a little more as well.  Not that I update nearly as regularly, but, when I do- it will email you to let you know instead of having to check all of the time (because of my irregularity with blogging)!  So, to direct your attention to the email feed, please see the email entry box on the right side of the page.  I promise I won’t SPAM you.  I don’t post nearly enough to come close!

In the meantime, I stumbled across this adorable blog last night called Riding Pretty.  It’s all about bicycles!  How chic, spring, and fun!

HAPPY WEEKEND!

my new favorite magazine.

Well, VOGUE aside (because you simply can’t compare VOGUE with another magazine), I have a new favorite publication.  It is called: THE GENTLEWOMAN.  Go ahead, laugh at its name, but wait to be in awe of its pale pink cover and exclusively raw (and real) interviews.  I love its style.  It’s fresh, honest, direct, and quirky.  And, let me tell you, I receive A LOT of magazines.  So many so, that this past weekend I had to actually buy something comparable to a massive antique china cabinet to store all of my back issues of Vogue (three years worth and that’s not including the issues I have at my parents house from high school and college), Harpers Bazaar, Vanity Fair, ELLE Decor, Domino, Town and Country, countless European editions of American titles, and miscellaneous decor publications.

I feel so lucky to have snagged a first edition copy from the Borders Uptown Dallas location.  It’s simply fantastic and when reading it, I’m completely engrossed which I would say is atypical of magazines that you could: get a pedicure and read, talk on the phone and read, drive and read… (oops).

“The Gentlewoman is a biannual style magazine for a new decade. Featuring inspirational, international women, it pairs ambitious journalism with a sartorial and intelligent perspective on fashion that is focused on personal style – the way women actually look, think and dress.” – Gentlewoman Magazine

For me, the Gentlewoman has the addictive qualities comparable to a great novel. And if nothing else, it is extremely entertaining.

Anna Spiro’s Bungalow

After loving the closet spread in House and Home, I purchased the May issue over the weekend after eyeing it at Borders.  I immediately fell in love with this spread of Australian Interior Designer, Anna Spiro.  I was delighted to find she is the blogger behind Absolutely Beautiful Things, which I visit frequently.  Browsing through her blog this evening, I found that she of course mentioned the feature, but I wanted to present some larger images as hers simply don’t do its loveliness justice.

They call it spring fever?

Please excuse my lack of posts the past few days. I am in the midst of moving and do not currently have an internet connection in my new residence. Me? Without internet? Shocking I know. Anyways, I wanted to share this song with you because ever since I heard it live last week, I haven’t seemed to get it completely out of my mind! I love the live saxophone!

I actually burned a CD this week, so that I could keep listening to it in my car and seem to be replaying it over and over. Anyways, it’s the popular “Girl From Ipanema” by Astrud Gilberto. Astrud Gilberto was a celebrated 1960’s Brazilian songstress and I actually enjoy everything by her daughter, Bebel Gilberto as well. Anyways, I really am enamored by this song and I think it will be perfect for the summer cocktail parties I am dreaming up for my patio - Audrey Hepburn gone samba?

(*Bebel’s albums make for great background music to accompany yoga workouts by the way)

‘Scuse Moi - More is More!

Clutter is BEAUTIFUL!

It’s not only the fact that she used to work for Domino magazine that I follow Rita Konig’s posts on The Moment blog religiously.  It’s because she gets it and I agree with EVERYTHING she says, does, and features.  The very first line of her most recent post states: “I find abundance very reassuring.” Yes and yes!  Look how fabulous this clutter looks:

It’s a HAPPY FRIDAY … in these shoes.

I thought I’d post these gorgeous knotted-toe ballerina flats from the Prada spring collection available at Bergdorf Gooodman.  I think they are so beautiful and fun for summer!  Of course, they are in a peony foulard twill print!

love. love. love.  HAPPY WEEKEND!
